How It Works

  • Your Portrait Details

    Choose your favorite size and one of the three textured-looking background color choices. If your portrait will be framed, choose one of the four frame color options. Next, upload your favorite photo of your pet, see our Photo Tips.

  • Customize

    Now for the fun part! Add your pet's name and up to 5 character traits that best describe your furry friend. Want a cleaner look with no details? No problem, just leave any of those boxes blank!

  • Relax!

    Our in-house design team takes it from here and will take your pet's photo and create a modern, soft oil illustration. We'll then have the pet portrait of your furry friend created and shipped right to your doorstep.

FAQs

Can I make changes to my order after it's submitted?

Yes! You can make a changes to your order as long as you email us within 1 hour of placing your order. Please send an email to orders@nakonaonthird.com with whatever changes you'd like to make.

What kind of photo do I need to submit?

Because of the nature and design of our macro (close-up) pet portaits, we have a few tips for a great photo!

1. Choosing a well lit, natural lighting (preferably) area to take the photo will help us when it comes to detail on your pet's illustration.

2. A straight-on, eye-level photo of your pet looking at you showing their head and neck is all we need.

3. Avoiding blurry or dark photos will provide the best outcome! The better quality the photo, the better your illustration will look. Most cell phones today take great photos!

Can I see a proof before it goes to print?

Because our goal is to get your portrait to you as soon as possible, we do not offer proofs of the artwork before going to print. However, if we feel like the photo you submitted will not work the best, we will reach out to you to get a new one!

Do you do portraits of all pets or just dogs?

We focus on dogs, but we love all pets! If you have a horse, a cat, or even a gecko that you'd like us to create a portrait of, we're happy to! Our only request is that you try to follow the Photo Tips for how to submit the best quality photo.
